Add Vellum Inserts
to Your Wedding Invitation Package

A vellum insert is a semi-transparent sheet that is used to separate the wedding invitation from everything else in the envelope (i.e. reply card, information / map card, etc). This traditional part of a wedding invitation can make even the simplest wedding invitation more elegant.

History of the Vellum Insert
Vellum inserts were originally used to separate the wedding invitation from the reply card back when printing ink didn't fully dry. The vellum would act as a barrier between the two pieces so the ink wouldn't smudge the other piece. We don't have to worry about ink smudging today, but the vellum insert still acts as a traditional and elegant addition to current wedding invitations.

Vellum Insert Size
Traditionally, vellum inserts are cut slightly smaller than the wedding invitation, so that the wedding invitation piece is the largest in the envelope. Keeping this tradition, our vellum inserts are cut to the same size as the reply card and information / map card (4.25" x 5.5") which is slightly smaller than the wedding invitation.
